Espresso Royale - Dinkytown

Further proof as to why I work with computers instead of pencils.
I drank a doppio espresso and whipped this out with a .7 mm mechanical Ticonderoga.
My son sat next to me, sipped on an apple juicy juice box and colored with fat Crayolas.
In retrospect I wish I still had what he was working on instead.

Cool doodle - you're on the verge of something there. Also, the sketch in your last post reminded me of a midieval wood cut. Keep it up! My kids could use some time in DinkyTown to counteract the hours in a camo canoe. ;)

  2. Thanks Eric,

My boy definitely needs some camo canoe time. He had about 45 minutes last summer and that's just not cutting it.

I liked your last post - Your 3 year old and my 4 year old have the same haircut!

I have some work doodles that I'll get around to posting one of these days. FYI - It's not like I think I can actually draw or anything. But I guess it's kind of like knowing how to play the guitar -- What good is it if you never share it? Tree falling in the forest, and all that. I guess this web site is basically the Fridge where I put up all my own art projects - No matter how dorky.

PS - I play guitar about as well as I draw... I get my kicks by just adding to the noise. (I guess that makes me a rhythm guitarist!)

Thanks for stopping by and posting a comment.

  3. Cool sketch! Better than anything I've ever doodled.

That Espresso Royale used to be one of my primary coffee shops during college. That one and the little one in Stadium Village. Used to get myself a big green tea on my way to my 3 hr evening Spanish class... I don't think I would have been awake for much of that class without it.

    Feliz Fourth of July!

  4. Thanks Greg, I was more of an Espresso 22 guy myself. I also would get my fixes at the Purple Onion back in the day (When it was in the building Potbelly Sandwich works is now).

Funny, I was in the Spanish program at the U also. I even worked as a student worker in the Spanish & Portuguese office (34 Folwell Hall) for a year. Like you, if memory serves right, I was an English major. (I know you were, it's me I'm not so sure of - Hah)

    Small world.
